Reset, Restore, Realign: Coming Home to Yourself

Reset • Restore • Realign—a women’s wellness weekend at Absolute Best in San Pedro. Early November; exact dates coming soon.

A conversation with Clara Bassett and Deanna at Absolute Best Wellness Center

Sometimes the most meaningful change begins with a conversation—and the realization that you deserve some of the care you so freely give to others.

In the video above, I sit down with Deanna, a Reiki master and certified sound-healing practitioner, to talk about boundaries, self-care, and making room for ourselves. We also share the beginnings of a women’s wellness weekend we’re planning here at Absolute Best Wellness Center in San Pedro:

Reset • Restore • Realign.

One of Deanna’s observations stayed with me: boundaries are a deeper expression of self-love.

That idea is at the heart of this conversation and the weekend we’re creating.

Caring for Others While Caring for Yourself

Many of us have spent years being the person others depend on. We listen, help, organize, and find a way to keep going.

But being available to everyone can leave very little room to ask ourselves: What do I need?

In our conversation, Deanna offers a useful distinction. When someone brings us a problem, we can listen, acknowledge what they’re experiencing, or offer help. We don’t have to automatically take responsibility for solving it.

And when we do choose to help, we can pause to consider how much we have to give.

A boundary might sound like:

“I can listen, but I don’t have the capacity to take this on today.”

“I’d love to help. Here’s what I can realistically offer.”

“I need some time before I answer.”

These small choices can help us care for others with greater clarity while making space for our own lives.

Self-Care Begins With Paying Attention

Self-care can include a restorative experience, a quiet afternoon, or time spent moving your body. It can also be a practical decision: protecting your time, looking honestly at your commitments, or asking for support.

What restores one person may be different from what restores another.

Perhaps you need more rest. Perhaps you miss movement you enjoy. Perhaps you’re ready to reconsider a relationship, a responsibility, or a habit that no longer fits.

You don’t have to solve everything at once. You can begin by noticing what feels nourishing, what feels draining, and what you want to make room for.

The Weekend We’re Creating

Our Reset • Restore • Realign weekend grew out of these questions.

We’re planning a three-day, in-person wellness experience for women at Absolute Best Wellness Center. Our intention is to bring together movement, reflection, restorative experiences, and practical conversations in a welcoming space.

Each day has a focus.

Friday: Reset

Begin to slow down, reconnect with your body, and consider what you’re carrying.

The proposed program includes accessible yoga, gentle movement and breathing, and conversations about boundaries—especially how to offer support without taking ownership of someone else’s responsibilities.

Saturday: Restore

Make room for rest and explore what supports your energy.

We’re planning time for Reiki or quiet rest, reflection on money and energy, and practical wellness habits you can bring into daily life.

Sunday: Realign

Consider what you want to carry forward.

The proposed final day includes a sound bath, reflection, and time to choose a boundary practice, a restorative habit, and a manageable next step.

The program is still taking shape. We’ll share the final schedule, facilitators, pricing, and any optional treatment arrangements when those details are confirmed.

Come Home to Your Body

“Come home to your body” guides this weekend.

For me, that means giving yourself time to notice how you feel, listen to what you need, and make choices with greater intention.

It might mean giving yourself permission to rest. It might mean finding joy in movement again. It might mean recognizing that you can be generous and loving while also honoring your limits.

My hope is that we’ll create space for women to feel heard, connect with one another, and leave with something practical they can use.
